NEW PAINTING!

"Morrigan"

I began this painting almost an entire year ago for a demonstration at the
Spoutwood Fairie Festival. I really liked the idea, but ran into a block with
the background, and put it aside shortly after the demo. My inspiration for
it was rekindled recently, and I'm very happy with the results.

Morrigan is a Faerie goddess of battle. Her name means 'Great Queen'
or 'Phantom Queen', and she can be represented as a single woman, or as
three sisters. She can inspire courage in those she wishes to help, or sap it
from those she doesn't. Though she is a goddess of war, she doesn't delight in
slaughter for the sake of it, but only when necessary to defend a land or
people. She is often seen on battlefields in the form of a crow.
